Police are investigating a violent incident at an east Auckland property that left a person injured.
A police spokesperson says the victim was assaulted by a group of people armed with a weapon – which was not a firearm – at an address in Tir Conaill Avenue, Flat Bush, at about 10am on November 6.
The victim received minor injuries.
A post on an east Auckland community Facebook page about the incident warns locals to be careful when opening their door after the doorbell is rung.
The poster says her husband was attacked by three people after a child rang their doorbell and asked for help.
Her husband is recovering at A&E with “stab wounds that require plastic surgery,” she says.
The police spokesperson says: “Anyone who witnessed the incident, or with information that may assist, is asked to contact police via our 105 phone service, quoting file number 231106/6382.
“Information can also be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
