Cockle Bay School’s junior students have two final shows to perform of their production, Pirates vs Mermaids, so if you’ve got no plans tonight, head along to see what it’s all about!
Around 200 children in years one to three are involved in each cast, with the youngest main actor five years old with the help of 17 cue cards.
Director and dance and drama specialist at Cockle Bay School, Kirsten Bell, said bringing productions back to the school was the right move.
“We decided to bring back productions after more than a decade to enhance performance dance and drama at our school, giving the children a chance to shine in their own right. Every student is involved singing, dancing and acting.
“Some children have only just started school this term but are so brave to go on stage performing to an audience of around 400 up at the Picton Centre in Howick… children are so enthusiastic, and loving every minute of it!
- Shows start 5pm and 6:15pm tonight at Picton Centre and $5 tickets can be purchased on the door.
