If you own or rent a property or business in the Howick Ward and want your views to be heard, come join the Howick Ratepayers’ and Residents’ Association’s [HRRA] AGM for a chance to meet and question candidates for this crucial election.
The day begins with a brief meeting at 11am, Saturday [August 26] at the Howick Bowling Club, 33 Selwyn Road, moving quickly into time with the candidates.
“As a local group since the 1920s, we represent the views of the community to Auckland Council, Howick Local Board, Council Controlled Organisations and Government, making sure that resources and facilities are used for the benefit of everyone and that, on behalf of the community, we hold the Government to account on issues that affect us all,” the HRRA says.
“This year we have made 18 submissions to Council, Council entities and Government on topics including high density housing, Three Waters, Eastern Busway, free speech, the threatened sale of our reserves and community buildings and other strategic matters.
“This meeting is your chance to consider what sort of a Government you want, moving forward.”
