征求对地方执行局计划的反馈意见

Since entering Covid-19 Level One, the Howick Local Board office has reopened. Board members are back in the boardroom for business meetings and workshops with the option to use Skype to attend meetings via the internet. Members of the public have taken this opportunity to present their public forum items in this manner also. This option will be available until September.

New toilets at Mellons Bay Beach

The renewal of the toilets at Mellons Bay Beach has been completed. Check out the brand new block which offers changing areas and three self-cleaning gender-neutral toilets and has been beautifully designed to blend with the pohutukawa trees nearby.

Play space repairs

Broken playground equipment has been replaced in Grace Campbell Reserve and Browns Avenue Reserve play spaces. Both play spaces are looking neat and tidy and each boasts a new Lunar V2 Climb and Spinner. There are new ropes on the dragon’s back equipment at Grace Campbell and the incline net and spider web rope nets have been replaced at Browns Ave. Further place space renewal work will continue in other locations over the coming weeks.

Our local sports heroes

The Howick Sports Awards were held on Monday June 29 at the Pakuranga Rugby Club. Winners from 15 categories were chosen from the many nominations received and included individual sports people, teams, and the coaches, administrators and volunteers who also make a significant contribution to local sport.

The Howick Local Board constantly aims for a ‘Healthy Howick’ – with an active community where our people have good physical and mental health. They believe that participation in sport can contribute to both these outcomes and build other great qualities.

The Local Board congratulates all nominees and winners – you make our community proud!

Feedback required

Between July 13 and August 13, the Howick Local Board will be seeking feedback on their draft Local Board Plan for the next three years. Board members will be out and about in the community and attending local meetings to hear what you have to say. You can check out the details of these meetings, read our draft plan and also provide feedback online at akhaveyoursay.co.nz/lovelocal. Or just fill out a form at your local library. If you prefer to present your thoughts more formally there will be a ‘hearing style’ opportunity available. Details will be available on the Howick Local Board Facebook page.
