为筹款活动销售日历

Everyone loves calendars as gifts, particularly if the calendar’s content is local.

Times Media has produced two calendars this year (just in time for Christmas). One calendar utilises the best of the newspapers photographs taken by award-winning photographer Wayne Martin during the year.

The second calendar celebrates the area’s 171-year history and was very carefully produced with the guidance of Howick historian and author Alan La Roche. It epitomises the character of the district and harkens back to times of pioneers and the building of Howick and Pakuranga and surrounding districts.

Times Media managing director Reay Neben said the company had produced calendars in the past. And there’s a twist this time round in that the calendars are available to groups and organisations as fundraisers.

“We decided it was an opportunity for small groups to raise money for their causes.”

Calendars can be taken in batches and sold for $20 a unit, half of which goes to the organisation selling them.

“We thought this was perfect for any small group trying to fundraise. They can simply pick up a number of these and sell them to their families, friends and networks and at events. It’s so simple ,” Mrs Neben said.

“These are ideal for Christmas gifts – the content is all local and they ultimately support local causes.”

The Times is also selling the calendars at its reception at 10 Central Terrace (behind Rices Mall, Howick) and buyers can select one of three recipients to receive the proceeds of each sale.

Times Media has chosen to donate its calendar proceeds to the Save Stockade Hill Views group, the Howick Historical Village and Howick Santa Parade.
