- Adele White, Howick Local Board candidate, Howick subdivision
Adele White is well known to the people of Howick.
Born and bred locally, she’s gained huge respect from many locals through 21 successful years in local government, and from her former role in this community as a police officer for 33 years.
In this work and as a health educator, marriage and funeral celebrant, mentor and public speaker, she has touched the lives of many local families.
Her passion, professionalism, leadership skills, and proven ability to interact with all members of our community make her a worthy candidate to continue her work on the Howick Local Board.
As the current board chairperson, White has led successes around the preservation and celebration of Howick’s history and ensuring the area is well resourced with innovative facilities for all ages.
She’s established meaningful relationships with a diverse range of groups throughout the wider community.
White continues to actively speak out on significant Howick ward issues whilst being vigilant to, and openly questioning, council spending and service provision.
“I am a strong advocate for community safety, improved public transport, and having an attractive, activated and prosperous Howick Village, she says.
“We must continue to give attention to our natural environment, particularly protecting our streams, improving tree coverage and remediating coastal erosion.
“I have a solid commitment to ensuring the Howick we all love is fit for future generations and believe it is essential that our local board remains alert to an ever changing landscape, and the issues this may bring.”
