As the police do not seem to have the resources and knowledge of where ram raiders will strike, members of the public should not be discouraged from intervening but should be recommended and rewarded for any action they may take against these criminals.

To say let the police deal with it is to have the raiders slapped on the hand with a damp, expired bus ticket if they are caught and even that does not seem to be happening very often
At present, raids appear to be escalating as more businesses are hit.
The raiders are costing all of us and it requires all of us to act where we can. Also, there must be outlets for the stolen jewellery.
If I can trip one up with my walking stick, so be it.
