More fun to come with St Patty’s and Easter on the way

Summertime may be officially over but there’s still a lot of fun and excitement to come for Howick Village!

Tomorrow the town will be going green so head into Howick wearing as much green as possible, let your imagination run wild, and check out the great specials
offered by shops – see our St Patrick’s Day feature on page 13 of the paper.

I’ve heard some of the restaurants and bars are ready with Irish cuisine, or you can sing or chat away the evening enjoying some famous Irish beers.

Also, don’t forget to mark the calendar for the popular Easter Hunt happening during the April school holidays – Match the face to the business!!

Locals feature in new TV series

Keep an eye out for Howick inimitable Wally Rice and his delightful lady Marilyn (a local author) in the TV1 series Te Radar’s Chequered Past on Saturday nights at 8:05pm.

It features Howick identities and Howick flavour as it celebrates the true stories of the history that history tried to forget.

Marilyn is one of the market stallholders and sells her books that she writes at Classy Crafts every fortnight at All Saints Church.

Not only do they dress up for the television appearance, but here they are looking absolutely lovely attending Art Deco in Napier!

Rock’n’roll your socks off

It’s that time of month again! Head on down to the Howick RSA on Saturday night to hear the Kavalliers – A Rocking Great Band. They play every third Saturday of most months, so mark it in your diary.

This free event featuring rock’n’roll and dance music is open to all ages and is guaranteed to get you up on your feet dancing the night away.

Starting at 7pm, it’s one of the fantastic entertainment events happening this weekend in the village. Invite a friend and enjoy a night on the town!
